Atlanta Habitat For Humanity

  • TBD

Come join the Atlanta Parrot Head Club and Atlanta Habitat For Humanity as we give back to our community by helping to build a new home for a deserving first time homeowner. It will be one of the most rewarding days you will ever have volunteering for a great cause.

You don't have to be a contractor or even an accomplished do it yourselfer to participate. There are all types of jobs to be done at each build to accommodate all skill levels.

Last year we had 15 volunteers that were fortunate to work on the final build day and were able to participate in the dedication of the house with the family buying their first home.

Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity today operates around the globe and has helped build, renovate and repair more than 800,000 decent, affordable houses sheltering more than 3 million people worldwide. You can find out more about Atlanta Habitat For Humanity at www.atlantahabitat.org.

Registration is limited so sign up early.  The last day to register is August 10. We will get details such as the address and the type of work we will be doing on the Thursday before the build, August 16.

Please email me once you have completed your registration or if you have any questions at bob.scarboro@usa.net.
