Come Get A Little Sweaty For Habitat for Humanity
On Saturday, July 15th, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the Club will be volunteering to help build a house with Habitat for Humanity. Usually, builds only allow for 10 volunteers beside the group that helps fund the construction. However, we have been given 20 spots for APHC volunteers. You do not have to have previous construction experience. Those spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each volunteer will need to complete Habitat’s release and waiver. Once registered, volunteers will receive an automated confirmation email with a link to a volunteer information packet. Habitat’s volunteer coordinator will send out an email to all of the club’s registered volunteers on Thursday, July 13th, with the build location and other final details. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers at the build, but each person is required to pay a lunch fund contribution of $10 each. A lump sum for the group has to be paid one week before our build date. We will discuss with volunteers how we will be collecting that money. Please register as soon as you can because if we fail to fill the 20 spots (and we really hope that doesn’t happen) we need to let coordinators know. There will most likely be a post-build volunteer party - it will probably have to be outside or somewhere that can hose us off after a day of building in July.
